WATER TEMPERATURE
ADJUSTMENT
Safety and energy conservation are factors to be considered when selecting the water temperature setting via the water
heater's user interface. Water temperatures above 125°Fcan cause severe burns or death from scalding. Be sure to read
and follow the warnings outlined on the label pictured below. This label is also located on the water heater near the top of the
tank.
HOT
Water temperature

The electronic
temperature
control
setting
usually approximates
tap
water temperature.
However,
factors
could cause
water
temperature
to reach 160°F
regardless
of the control
setting.
Always

bathing

reduce the risk of scald injury.
NOTE:Households with small children, disabled or elderly
persons may require a 120°F(49°C)or lower thermostat
setting to prevent contact with "HOT" water.
