Do not lean the ladder against
unsuitable surfaces.
All locking mechanisms for all
extended rungs/steps shall be
checked and be locked before
use.
Leaning ladders with steps shall
be used that the steps are in a
horizontal position.
Do not stand on the top three
steps/ rungs of a leaning ladder.
For telescopic ladders, the last
meter shall not be used.
Do not stand on the last metre
of a telescopic ladder.
Ladders used for access to a
higher level shall be extended at
least 1 m above the landing
point and secured, if necessary.
Prevent the ladder from falling
or dropping to hard ground
which will cause a risk of
damage to the ladder parts.
Check the ladder carefully and
make sure it is safe before next
use if the ladder was dropped
or fallen.
