2.2 GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION FOR ELECTRICAL
EQUIPMENT
• ATTENTION! Read all of the safety information and instructions. Failure to follow the safety
information and instructions may lead to electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
• Ensure that water cannot get inside the appliance. Never immerse the appliance in water or
other liquids. Never expose it to rain.
• Do not use the appliance if the mains plug, power cord or any other part of the appliance is
defective or damaged.
• Do not use the appliance if it has previously been dropped.
• Do not use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage.
• Do not remove the power plug from the socket by pulling on the power cord.
• Avoid unintentional startup. Ensure that the switch is turned off before connecting the plug.
Carrying electrical tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in electrical tools while the
switch is on can cause accidents.
• Never insert or remove the mains plug with wet hands.
• This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by
a person who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions from such a person on
how to use the device. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
• Remove any adjustment tools before switching on the electric tool.
• Do not use any electrical appliances in potentially explosive environments e.g. in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical appliances produce sparks that can ignite dust or
exhaust fumes.
• Do not use the appliance in connection with a separate control timer, a separate remote control
system or other devices that automatically switch the appliance on.
• Keep children and other people away while you are operating the electrical appliance.
Distractions may lead to loss of control.
2.3 ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• The plug of the electrical appliance must be compatible with the socket. Never change the plug.
Original plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Use the cable only for its intended purpose. Never use the cable to carry, pull or unplug the
electrical appliance. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
Damaged or twisted cables increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating electrical equipment outdoors, use an extension cord that is suitable for
outdoor use.
• If operating electrical equipment in a damp environment is unavoidable, use a residual current
circuit breaker for personal protection purposes.
2.4 PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert at all times, and always pay attention to what you are doing while operating electrical
equipment. Do not use electrical equipment when you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
