You can reduce the risks considerably by following
the tips below:
– Maintain the device in accordance with the
instructions in the operating instructions.
– Avoid working at low temperatures.
– When it is cold, make sure your body and your
hands, in particular, are kept warm.
– Take regular breaks and move your hands at the
same time to promote circulation.
Personal protective clothing
Wear goggles when working with the de-
vice.
Wear ear defenders when working with the
device.
When working with tools that cause consid-
erable dust, wear a dust protection mask.
Do not wear protective gloves when work-
ing with the device.
Wear tight fitting clothes when working with
the device.
If you have long hair, cover or wear a hair
net.

Operation
Charging the battery pack
Note: Rechargeable battery and charger
are not part of the scope of delivery and are
available optionally from your dealer
(► Accessories – p. 31).
WARNING! Risk of injury! Comply with all
safety instructions when handling recharge-
able devices.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not allow the battery pack to deep dis-
charge.
Note: If the battery is fully loaded, the
charger automatically switches over to the
maintenance charge function. The battery
can thus remain in the charger permanently.
• The battery pack must be charged prior to the first
start-up (charging time: ► Technical data –
p. 31).
– Press in the locking button (9) and remove the
battery from the device.
– Insert the battery pack into the charger.
– Plug the charger into the power supply.
The charging status is displayed by the control
lights (10).
– Slot the battery pack into the device and make
sure it clicks into place correctly.
Checking the remaining capacity of the battery
– Press the button (8).
The remaining capacity of the battery is displayed by
the control lights (7).
Removing a tool
NOTICE! Risk of injury! Shortly after
being used, the tool may be very hot. Risk of
burning! Allow a hot tool to cool down. Never
clean a hot tool with flammable liquids.

– Pull the tool holder (1) back.
– Remove the tool.
Inserting a tool
DANGER! Risk of injury! Make sure that
when installing the tool that it fits securely in
the clamping chuck and is not at an angle.
Note: Clean and grease the shaft of the tool
before inserting.
– Insert the required tool with a slight turn until the
tool holder locks.
Changing the rotation direction
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Only use the rotation direction switch when
the device is at a standstill.
– To drill and screw screws into place, press the
rotation direction switch (2) to the left (rotation in
clockwise direction).
– To remove screws, press the rotation direction
switch (2) to the right (rotation in an anti-clockwise
direction).
If the rotation direction switch is in the centre position,
the On/Off switch (3) is blocked.

Only change operating mode when the
