CLEANING YOUR REFRIGERATOR
• Upon installation of your new appliance, it is recommended that it be cleaned thoroughly.
Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
• Remove all food content.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE
For efficient operation, it is recommended that you clean your appliance about every
3 months.
• Turn the temperature control to the OFF position and unplug the refrigerator. Carefully slide
the refrigerator away from the wall so it does not damage the floor below.
• Wipe dust from the back of refrigerator with a clean dry cloth use a vacuum cleaner with a
brush attachment to clean the compressor area.
CLEANING THE INSIDE
It is recommended that you clean the inside of the refrigerator at least twice a year
• Turn the temperature control to the OFF position and unplug the refrigerator. Remove all
food content.
• Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in lukewarm water and baking soda
solution. The solution should be about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to about 1 litre of
water.
• Wash the ice cube tray, drawers and shelves in mild detergent solution, rinse thoroughly
and dry with a soft cloth. To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the
refrigerator.
VACATION
• Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Remove all the
food.
• Clean the refrigerator.
• Leave the door open slightly to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odor.
• Use extreme caution in the case of children. The unit should not be accessible to children
playing.
• Short vacations: Leave the refrigerator operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
• Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all food and
unplug the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold
growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary or have the door
removed.
MOVING YOUR REFRIGERATOR
• Turn off the refrigerator first and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Remove all the
food.
• Securely tape down all loose items inside your refrigerator. Tape the door shut.
• Be sure the refrigerator stays in the upright position during transportation. If the refrigerator
is inadvertently tilted beyond 45 degrees, place it in the upright position and wait 24 hours
before plugging in.
