IRONING TIPS

Always check first if there is a label attached to the garment with instructions for ironing. If so, always
follow these instructions.

The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Therefore, always iron garments that need the lowest
temperature first, such as synthetic fabrics.
·
If a fabric consists of several types of fibres, always choose the lowest temperature to iron the
combination of these fibres.
·
Silks and other fabrics that shine should be ironed along the inside.
·
Velvet and other fabrics that become shiny quickly should be ironed with light pressure in one
direction. Keep the iron moving at all times.
·
Fabrics that are 100% wool may be ironed with steam. Turn the temperature to maximum and use a
dry cloth to place on the fabric.
·
Never iron over zips or other metal objects in a garment. This can damage the soleplate. Always iron
around such objects.
·
When ironing woollen fabrics, the fabric may become shiny. Therefore, turn the garment inside out to
iron it.
CARRYING RELEASE
·
Place the iron on the thermal insulation pads. Press the large carrying lock button, the one with the
closed lock icon. You can now carry the iron using the handle.
·
To iron, press the small button of the carry release, the button with the icon with open lock.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1.
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning it.
2.
Wipe off residues on the ironing soleplate with a damp cloth or with a non-caustic (liquid) cleaning
product.
Caution: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive products to scrub the soleplate clean.
3.
Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft, damp cloth.
4.
Wipe away drips on the steam station and clean the thermal insulation pads with a dry cloth.
5.
When not using the steam station for a long time, pour the water out of the water tank and put the
iron on the thermal insulation pads to put it away.
6.
Wind the steam hose and cord around the appliance in the groove provided.
DECALCIFY: SELF-CLEANING FUNCTION
1.
After about 11 ironing hours, the indicator light above the self-cleaning button will start to
illuminate. This indicates that you need to clean the iron.
2.
Place the iron over a sink.
3.
Turn the temperature knob to position 'Max'.
4.
Make sure there is water in the water tank.
5.
Hold down the self-cleaning button for a few seconds. When the buzzer sounds, it's best to stay at a
safe distance away so you don't burn yourself on the hot steam.
6.
The pump will run water through the iron causing it to clean itself. This takes about one minute.
7.
After about 2 minutes, the cleaning is complete and the appliance can be used again.
If the indicator light remains on, repeat the descaling procedure.
