3. Clean Threads – Using a small wire brush, clean the threads on (6) M12 end panel studs, 3 per side.
4. Install Flat Washers – Install the 7/16" flat washers onto the M12 studs on top of the existing M12 hex nuts that hold the vehicle bumper beam.
5. Install Mounting Brackets – Raise mounting brackets into position onto the M12 studs over the 7/16" flat washers. Loosely install (6) M12 Hex Flange Locknuts to hold the
mounting brackets in place, 3 per side.
6. Trim Bumper Panel – Using a tape measure, marking pen, masking tape, and a cutting tool, measure, mark, and cut square hole in bottom Bumper Panel as shown in Figure
3.
7. Install hitch – Raise the hitch center section into position, rotating receiver tube through hole in bumper panel. Secure center section to mounting brackets by loosely
installing 1/2" carriage bolts, 1/2" conical toothed washers, and 1/2" hex nuts, (2) per side.

Tighten all ½-13 GR5 carriage bolts with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. ( 102 N*M)

Tighten all M12-1.50 hex flange nuts with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)
9. Reinstall Underbody Panels – Reinstall the underbody panels removed in steps 1 & 2 using original fasteners.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
