7. Using the device for the fi rst time
Before using the appliance for the first time, thoroughly wash the accessories
(pusher, splash guard lid, blade adapter, mixing bowl, drive rod, citrus press, cut-
ting blade, coarse grater, fine grater, blade holder, mixing disc, kneading disc, slicing
disc, measuring cup, lid of the blender jug, blender jug, blade for the blender jug
and the drive adapter for the blender jug). Please note that the parts are not dish-
washer safe.
 Attach the accessories as described in the following sections.
 After assembly, connect the food processor to a 220–240 V ~ 50/60 Hz safety
socket.

7.1. Short-term operation

NOTICE!
Risk of overheating due to excessive operation
 Do not operate the appliance continuously for longer than
the times stated below:
 Short-term operation: approx. 5 minutes.
• After operating for 5 minutes, allow to cool for 10 minutes.
NOTICE!
Odours during initial operation
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a
slight smell during initial operation. This smell is normal and is
not a sign of a malfunctioning appliance. Ensure that there is
adequate ventilation.
DANGER!
Risk of injury from rotating and moving parts
Always fit the splash guard lid to provide protection against the
rotating parts. There is risk of crushing injury!
