ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included Parts List.
Dashed numbers in parenthesis (Fig. 1-1) refer to a specific point in an
illustration or image.
1.
Place the vise on an appropriate workbench or mounting surface.
1.1 For added strength, place on the underside of the bench a
piece of wood measuring 18L x 18W x 2H in. or piece of
metal measuring 18L x 18W x 1/4H in.
2.
Once the vise is positioned as
desired, mark the location of the
mounting holes (Fig. 1-1).
3.
Place the vise to the side and
ensure the holes are in a safe,
appropriate location.
4.
Use a drill (not included) to
create the mounting holes
through the workbench and, if
used, the wood/metal plate.
5.
Place the base (#20) back on the workbench, aligning the holes.
6.
Insert bolts with flat washers (not included) through the base and
mounting surface.
6.1 Bolts should be long enough that they protrude at least 1 in.
beyond the underside of the mounting surface.
7.
Place a flat washer, lock washer and locking nut over the bolt on
the underside of the mounting surface.
8.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the other mounting holes.
9.
Secure all fasteners and components tightly in place.
OPERATION
This vise is ideally operated perpendicular to the workbench, enabling
work to be performed from either side. In some cases, the vise may
need to be rotated to allow better and safer access.
