Introduction

Dear customer,
we would like to thank you for the acquisition of the radio equipment MC-8 ( CV mobil 80 ) Multi Norm. You have acquired a
robust and reliable product which is built to the latest and highest technological standards.
The product is EMC-tested and fulfils the requirements of the guideline 89/336/EEC (electro-magnetic compatibility)
and therefore it corresponds to the standards of the established European and national guidelines. CE conformity
has been proven; the relevant documents are in the possession of the manufacturer.
Approval/ conformity
The device type MC-8 ( CV mobil ) Multi Norm has been tested in accordance with the regulations 73/23/EEC, 89/336/EEC,
99/5/EC, EN 300 135-2 ( 7/2000 ), EN 300 433-2 ( 7/2000 ), EN 301 489-1 ( 2002/04 ), EN 301 489-13 ( 2002/04 ),
EN 60950 : 2000 and has been approved.
Based on non-harmonised frequency applications, this unit may only be used in listed countries according to the selected
channel programming. The 8012 mode ( AM/FM ) is allowed only in Germany and it is free of licence and charges. The 4040
mode ( AM/FM ) is also allowed in Germany and free of licence and charges. But only the channels 4 - 15 are allowed for AM
transmit mode. An individual licence for operating this unit in 4040 mode ( AM/FM ) is requested in the in countries B, CH, E,
F, I, P. No licence is necessary for operating the unit in this mode in Finland and the Netherlands.
An individual licence for operating this unit in 4000 mode ( FM only ) is requested in the countries: Austria and Italy. No licence
is necessary for operating the unit in this mode in the countries: D, DK, F, FIN, N, NL, P, S.
Residents of the countries B, CH, E, GB need a CB licence in their home countries, while travellers from other European
countries may use 40 CH FM during travelling in these countries free of licence and charges.

Since the majority of Germany's neighbouring countries demand that the radio applications of the respective country must
not be disturbed by the operation of 80 channel CB radio devices which can be operated on the channels 41 to 80, the safety
distances between Germany and these countries have to be kept. Within these safety distances, 80-channel radio devices
must not be operated on the channels 41 to 80. If you have any question relating to these safety zones, please contact the

Intended use

The MC-8 ( CV mobil 80 ) Multi Norm has been developed for the use as built-in radio equipment for CB radio transmission
with a maximum transmitting power of 4 Watt. The product must only be connected to a 12 V (max. 15 V) DC voltage source
(e. g. car battery).
The devices are to be used only indoors. Protect them from dampness.
Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can damage the device and lead to associated risks such as
short-circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt. Please strictly comply with all safety
instructions contained in these operating instructions. Keep the operating instructions for further reference.

Safety instructions

We do not assume liability for resultant damages to property, or personal injury if the
product has been abused in any way or damaged by improper use or failure to observe
these operating instructions. In addition, any unauthorized modifications, or repairs of the
device will render the warranty null and void!
The unauthorised rebuilding and/ or modifying of the device is not permitted, because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
The device radiates RF-energy in transmit mode. Please keep attention of a safety distance to the antenna.
In industrial facilities, the safety regulations laid down by the professional trade association for electrical equipment and
facilities must be adhered to.
Never spill liquids over the device. There is a high fire risk. In case of a fire, separate the device immediately from the
voltage source and contact an expert.
Under contrary light conditions, e. g. sun light, the recognisability of the display might be impaired.
If you are not sure about how to connect the device correctly or if any additional questions arise which are not explained
in the operating manual, please contact our advisory service or a specialist.
The installation and connection of the device is to be carried out by an expert who is familiar with the relevant regulations
