1. Remove Underbody Panel - Using a T15 torx bit remove (16) screws, a 7mm socket, remove (4) screws, and flat screwdriver, remove (2) push-pin fasteners to remove panel.
2. Enlarge Access Hole - Using die grinder with rotary tool bit, enlarge Access Hole enough to fit head of carriage bolt and block, both sides. See Figure 1.
3. Trim Underbody Panel - using a tape measure, painter's tape, marker, and utility knife; measure, mark, and cut two (2) notches in Underbody Panel, 1/2'' wide by 5" long,
See Figure 2.
4. Install fasteners – Feed coiled end of pull wire through rearmost mounting hole bottom of frame and out of Access Hole, both sides. Attach 1/2" carriage bolts and 1/4"
thick spacer blocks to pull wires and pull the fasteners into position. Leave pull wires attached. Repeat process for forward attachment holes. See Figure 1.
5. Install hitch – Raise hitch into position and feed the pull wires through mounting holes in hitch. With bolts and hitch in position, remove pull wires and loosely install the
conical washers and hex nuts onto carriage bolts, (4) places (2 per side). Torque fasteners to specifications below.
6. Tighten all 1/2-13 Gr5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. ( 102 N*M)
7. Reinstall Underbody Panel – Using factory fasteners, reinstall the trimmed underbody panel removed in Step 1.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
