TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician
service the tool.
Problem(s)
No Power and the
display is blank.
Only voltage is
displayed and
powers off after 30
seconds of driving.
Unit crashes after
activation.

Possible Cause(s)
1. USB cable loose.
2. USB cable or GPS unit
is damaged.
3. OBD-II port is not
supplying power.
Vehicle has JOBD (Japan)
or OBD-I (pre-2008)
standard.
1. Other OBD devices
interfering with GPS
unit.
2. Car modified with
controller technology
that interferes
(central control
navigation, electronic
throttle controller,
speed cruise, One-
click start-up, remote
start-up or keyless
entry).

Suggested Solution(s)
1. Check that the USB cable
is properly seated at the
OBD-II and Mini B port.
2. a. Check for bent pins or
damage to the GPS unit.
b. Test the GPS unit with
a USB 2.0 to USB Mini-B
connector cable to
determine if the unit is
receiving power.
3. Connect unit to another
vehicle to see if GPS
unit is the issue.
This GPS unit will not work
with the vehicle. The vehicle
requires OBD-II or EOBD
(European, 2003). OBD-II is
installed on any vehicle
manufactured for the North
American market after 2008.
1. Unplug the other OBD
devices and factory
reset the GPS unit (see
Menu Settings).
2. Perform a factory reset
on the GPS unit. If
problem persists, this
unit cannot be used with
the vehicle.
