CONTROL LOGICS

The AER503IR thermostat can equip the fan
coils with multi-speed asynchronous motors
and brushless motors.
ADJUSTMENT LOGIC
There are two options for the thermostat
operating logic.
3-LEVEL THERMOSTAT
The figure below indicates fan operation in
Automatic mode (selector in AUTO position)
in relation to the proportional error; in manual
mode, the fan uses On-Off cycles on the
selected speed; in Auto mode, it performs On-
Off cycles in relation to V1 speed thresholds.
If the fan coil is equipped with an electric
heater, each single activation of the heater will
require a pre-ventilation phase of about 20"
at speed V1. Once the request for ventilation
with heater enabled has been fulfilled, there
will be a 60" post-ventilation phase at speed
V1. The Ventilation Enable section outlines
the fan enable-disenable logic in relation to
the water temperature in the heat exchanger,
while the Electric Resistor section illustrates
how ventilation with heater active takes place.

The figure below indicates the operation of the
fan in Automatic mode (selector in the AUTO
position) depending on the proportional error.
In manual mode (selector in position V1, V2,
V3) the fan uses On-Off cycles on the selected
speeds. If the fan coil is equipped with an
electric resistor, every time it is activated it will
require a pre-ventilation stage of about 20" at
speed VMINAUX. . Once the ventilation with
heater ON request is met, a post-ventilation
stage takes place for 60" with speed VMINAUX.
. The Ventilation Enable section outlines the
fan enable-disenable logic in relation to the
water temperature in the heat exchanger,
while the Electric Resistor section illustrates
how ventilation with heater active takes place.

VENTILATION LOGIC
V3
Thermostat-controlled ventilation
V2
The selection of the adjustment according
to the thermostat-controlled ventilation
V1
(P0
=0) turns off the ventilation when the
3
setpoint is reached.
Continuous ventilation
Continuous ventilation is selected by means
of P0
, which must be set to 1. In this mode,
3
ventilation continues at the selected speed
even after the set temperature value has been
reached. This function is disabled when the
machine does not have a shut-off valve
(P0
=0). in this case, ventilation is always
1
managed via thermostat-control logic.
Gradual ventilation start-up.
The thermostat offers gradual fan start-
up control when the fan coil is enabled, to
guarantee better environmental and acoustic
comfort.
The start-up conditions may be as follows:
Electrical activation of the fan coil with
the operating mode selector in any
position other than OFF.
Activation of the fan coil by rotating the
operating mode selector from OFF to
AUTO, V1, V2, V3 or AUX.
Closure of the MS contact if used for
external enabling (P0

OFF: The thermostat is switched off. It can
start up in Heating mode however, if the
room temperature falls below 7°C and the
water temperature is suitable (anti-freeze
function).
AUTO: When the set value is reached,
ventilation continues at the minimum
speed (V1).
V1: In this position, the minimum
ventilation speed V1 remains active,
regardless of the thermostat requests.
V2: In this position, the average ventilation
speed V2 remains active, regardless of the
thermostat requests.
Cooling setting AmbT [°C]
V3: In this position, the maximum
ventilation speed V3 remains active,
regardless of the thermostat requests.
Aux: In this position, the minimum
ventilation speed V1 remains active.
