MANUAL OF INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS
1.
The compression tester measures the top
pressure point exercised into the cylinder
of a diesel-type engine.
2.
Incorporates a wide range of fittings in or-
der to adapt to all kind of existing engines
in the market.
3.
Select the right fitting to connect the tes-
ter and the engine. When compressed air
from the cylinder gets into right compart-
ment, the indicator indicates the pressure
level. Write down the info and press the
exhaust button.
4.
To lengthen the tester's life, ensure the
working pressure is never up to 70%.
5.
Keep the tester away from fierce vibration
and collisions.
SECURITY INSTRUCTIONS
Always use eye protection and gloves while
using it. Always push the exhaust valve on the
side before unplugging the tester.
ESPECIFICATIONS
Double-reading manometer: 0-1000 PSI / 0-70
kg/cm².
PRELIMINARY PREPARATION
Turn on the engine and keep it working
until it reaches its working regular tempe-
rature.
Stop the engine.
Unplug all the wires from the heaters, pre-
viously numbered in order to facilitate the
unplugging.
Loosen all the heaters (approximately 1
turn), without taking them out.
With an air hose, clean up the dirt into the
heaters.
Remove all the heaters, writing down
which cylinder they were into.
READING
La manometer pointer does not move or stays still for
many runs and then it moves
Low the level of compression
High level of compression
Unplug the high-voltage cable plugged in
the center of the distributor and connect it
into the engine.
INSTRUCCIONES
Select the right attachment to link up the engine
and the tester. When the compressed gas gets
into the compartment, the indicator rotates and
points the pressure level. Then write down the
figure and push exhaust button to let the com-
pressed gas out.
Repeat the test and write down again the rea-
ding.
Repeat both readings in each of the heater ca-
vities.
WORK COMPLETION
Connect the heater into the cavities were they
were found.
Connect the cable of the heaters into the same
they were connected.
Connect the high-voltage cable into the distri-
butor.
ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS
The readings should be similar in all cylinders.
Test if the compression level matches with the
specified by the engine manufacturer.
Valve attached to the cylinder
There is a leak at the cylinder head gasket.
May be there's cooling fluid into the cylinders.
Valves in bad condition
Rings from the piston in poor condition
There are coal scraps into the cylinder
