Milk froth continues to flow from
the milk spout.
I cannot open the lid of the
coffee machine.
The milk is not cold enough. Make sure you use cold milk straight
from the refrigerator (5 °C-8 °C).
You did not use cow's milk. To achieve the best frothing results we
advise you to use semi-skimmed cow's milk at refrigerator
temperature (5 °C-8 °C).
The milk spout and milk tube may be dirty. Disassemble all the
parts of the milk spout and milk tube. Clean them thoroughly with a
brush and some washing-up liquid or put them in the dishwasher
(see 'Cleaning the milk spout and the milk container').
The machine needs descaling. Follow the descaling procedure to
descale the machine (see 'Descaling').
If all of the above does not work, put the whole milk spout in a
bowl with descaler solution for 10 to 20 minutes. Make sure that
you turn the milk spout from time to time.
If the milk continues to flow for more than a few seconds, make
sure the milk container is placed at the same level as the coffee
machine.
A vacuum may have temporarily formed under the lid. Switch off
the machine. Pull up the lever and wait 24 hours before you open
the lid. You may need to use some force.
Always make sure that the pod holders are clean and the center of
the sieve is not clogged to prevent a vacuum from forming under
the lid.
