thorized service and use only original
spare parts. This will ensure that the safety
of the power tool is maintained.
MACHINE-SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS
Hold power tool by insulated gripping
f
surfaces, when performing an operation
where the accessory may contact its own
cord. Cutting accessory contacting a "live"
wire may make exposed metal parts of the
power tool "live" and could give the operator
an electric shock.
Switch off the power tool immediately
f
when the tool insert jams. Be prepared for
high reaction torque that can cause kick-
back.
Do not mix food. Power tools and their ac-
f
cessories are not designed for processing
food.
Keep the cord away from the working
f
area. The cord may be entangled by the stir-
rer paddle.
The mixing container must be suitable for
f
mixing and must stand securely. A contain-
er that is not properly secured may move un-
controlled.
Ensure that no liquid splashes against the
f
housing of the power tool. Liquid that has
penetrated the power tool can cause damage
and lead to electric shock.
Follow the instructions and warnings in
f
the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
of the material to be mixed. Material to be
mixed may be harmful.
In the event of a power interruption, re-
f
lease the locking switch by pressing the
on/off switch. This will prevent the power
tool from restarting unintentionally (risk of
injury).
Do not use the power tool in a stand.
f
Additional instructions for safety and pre-
vention of accidents:
Ensure that the current voltage specified on
f
the rating plate corresponds with the supply
voltage.
Do not operate the appliance in an environ-
f
ment with a potentially explosive atmo-
sphere. Do not mix solvents or substances
containing solvents which have a flash point
below 21° C.
Do not pass cables around any parts of the
f
body.
The appliance must always be started up and
f
slowed down in the mixing container. Ensure
that the mixing container is firmly fixed in po-
sition for these operations.
Do not reach your hands or any objects into
f
the mixing container when mixing is in prog-
ress.
Wear ear protection.
f
It is advisable to wear gloves and protective
f
glasses during mixing operations. It is howev-
er, compulsory to wear close-fitting clothing.
VIBRATION SAFETY
This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or
long-term exposure to vibration may cause
temporary or permanent physical injury, par-
ticularly to the hands, arms and shoulders.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ANY VIBRA-
TION-RELATED INJURY:
First be examined by a doctor and then have
ƒ
regular medical check-ups to ensure medi-
cal problems are not being caused or wors-
ened from use. Pregnant women or people
who have impaired blood circulation to the
hand, past hand injuries, nervous system
disorders, diabetes, or Raynaud's Disease
should not use this tool. If you feel any
symptoms related to vibration (such as tin-
gling, numbness, and white or blue fingers),
seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Use tools with the lowest vibration when
ƒ
there is a choice.
Take vibration-free breaks during each day
ƒ
of work.
Grip tool as lightly as possible (while still
ƒ
keeping safe control of it). Let the tool do
the work.
CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY
Make sure the power supply information on
the machine's rating plate are compatible
with the power supply you intend to connect
it to.
This appliance is Class II and is designed for
connection to a power supply matching that
detailed on the rating label and compatible
with the plug fitted. If an extension lead is re-
quired, use an approved and compatible lead
rated for this appliance. Follow all the instruc-
tion supplied with the extension lead.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
Make sure your extension cord is in good con-
f
dition. When using an extension cord, be sure
to use one heavy enough to carry the current
your product will draw. An undersized cord
will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in
loss of power and overheating.
Always replace a damaged extension cord or
f
have it repaired by a qualified person before
using it.
Protect your extension cords from sharp ob-
f
jects, excessive heat and damp/wet areas.
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools.
f
This circuit should be protected with the ap-
propriate time-delayed fuse. Before connect-
ing the motor to the power line, make sure
the switch is in the OFF position and the elec-
tric voltage is rated the same as the voltage
stamped on the motor nameplate. Running at
a lower voltage will damage the motor.
