k) Take precautions when
starting the motor by following
the instructions and with the feet
well away from the cutter or
cutters.
l) Never tilt the machine when
starting the motor, unless it must
be tilted for starting. In this case,
never tilt it more than absolutely
necessary and only tilt the part
furthest from the operator.
m) Never start the machine when
the operator is facing the ejection
opening.
n) Never put the hands or feet
close to or under the rotating
parts. Never allow the ejection
opening to become obstructed.
o) Do not transport the machine
when the power supply is
applied.
p 1) Stop the machine and
remove the electric plug from its
socket. Check that all moving
parts have stopped completely.
p 2) Stop the machine, and
remove the isolating device.
Check that all moving parts have
stopped completely:
− before leaving the machine,
− before cleaning blockages or
unblocking the trough,
− before inspecting, cleaning or
repairing the machine,
− after hitting a foreign object.
Inspect the machine to detect
any damage and make repairs
before restarting and using it.
If the machine starts to vibrate
abnormally (check immediately):
− inspect the machine to check
whether it is damaged,
− repair or replace any
damaged part,
− check that parts have not
become loose and tighten them if
necessary.
4 Maintenance and storage
a) Keep all the nuts, bolts and
screws tight to as to be certain
that the equipment is in good
working order.
b) Check the collection box
frequently for wear or
deterioration.
c) Replace worn or damaged
items so that the machine
remains safe.
d) On multi-blade machines, take
precautions, because rotation of
one cutter can lead to the rotation
of all the others.
e) Take care, when adjusting the
machine, to avoid trapping
fingers between moving blades
and their fixed parts.
f) Always allow the machine to
cool before storing it.
g) During routine maintenance of
the cutter, take care, even if the
power supply is cut off, as it
could still be moving.
h) Replace worn or damaged
items so that the machine
remains safe. Only use spare
parts and original accessories.
5 Recommendation
We recommend supplying the
machine via an RCD [Residual
Current Device] with breaking
current less than or equal to 30
mA.
