UNPACKING INSTRUCTION
CAUTION! Carefully unpack the box upon receipt. Check the contents to ensure that all parts are present and have been
received in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packaging material if any parts appear damaged from
shipping or the package itself shows signs of mishandling. Save the package and all packaging materials. If the product must be
returned, it is important that the product is returned in the original factory box and packaging.
If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. The
arising condensation water might damage your device. Leave the device switched off until it has reached room temperature.
POWERSUPPLY
The label on the back/under side of the product indicates the mains voltage to which it must be connected. Check that the mains
voltage corresponds to this. Any other voltage than the one indicated may cause irreparable damage to the unit. The unit must
also be connected directly to the mains voltage and no dimmer or adjustable power supply may be used.
Always connect the device to a protected circuit (circuit breaker or fuse). Make sure the device has an appropriate
electrical ground to avoid the risk of electrocution or fire.
OVERVIEW
1. MICROPHONE INPUT
Combo jack microphone input. Electronically balanced, suitable for 6.3mm jack plug- or XLR cable microphones.
2. GAIN
Microphone input gain adjuster.
3. LINE INPUT
6.3mm jack input for connecting instruments (unbalanced) or mono line level (balanced) sources.
4. GAIN
Line input gain adjuster.
5. HEADPHONE OUTPUT
6.3mm headphone output jack.
6. OUTPUT VOLUME LEVEL
Rotate to adjust the output volume level.
7. 48V
Phantom power switch. Enables 48V phantom power at the combo jack microphone input.
8. AIR
Press to enable AIR mode at the microphone input. AIR mode alters the frequency response of the input stage, boosting the
high- and mid frequencies of your audio.
9. INST
Instrument/line level switch for line input. Pressing enables to suit the GAIN knob to either instrument- or line level signals.
10. DIRECT MONITOR
Enables monitoring of input signals (mixed with DAW output) from inputs (ON) or via DAW (OFF).
11. SECURITY LOCK
Use to secure your unit to a suitable structure/surface, if so desired.
12. USB
USB type-c connector to connect to a computer via supplied USB cable.
13. LINE OUTPUT
Left and right 6.3mm output jacks.
SETUP
Below setup shows a typical configuration for recording using DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) on Mac or PC. Vocals are
recorded through the microphone input, instruments can be recorded through the line input. Playback can be monitored via
headphones (headphone output jack). When using a condenser microphone that is designed to operate on 48 phantom power
voltage, make sure to initiate phantom power mode by pressing the "48V" button. The 48V text will be illuminated.
PLEASE NOTE: before connecting a microphone, please check the specification of that microphone to ensure it is safe to use.
Line input can be set to either 2- or 3-pole by pressing the "INST" button. Turn on the "INST" mode (the text will be illuminated)
when connecting an instrument like a guitar e.g. that uses an ordinary 2-pole (TS) jack. Turn off the "INST" mode when
connecting a keyboard, synthesizer, or a balanced output of an external mixer making use of a 3-pole (TRS) jack.
The line output connectors on the rear of the unit are 3-pole (TRS) 6.3mm jack sockets and are electronically balanced.
* The shown example is based on a setup with active speakers. When connecting passive speakers, a separate amplifier is
required. The line output of the unit should then be connected to the amplifiers' inputs.
