3.1 Area to be heated

Determine the exact area to be heated and consider the following factors:

Ensure the area to be heated complies with the data in the design instructions. See Table 1 on page 10 for product selection.
•
Establish junction box location(s) and ensure the connection leads (16.4' (5 m)) are long enough.
•
Inspect and clean the surface before installation, removing sharp objects that can damage the heating element.
•
The heating element must not be shortened or altered.

Do not run the heating
mat over expansion joints.
Also heat the surfaces on which
braking will occur, e.g. before a
barrier or a magnetic card reader.

up to the drain-off gutter.
