For installation under pavers (stone or brick), ensure that there is a solid base of 4" to 8" (102 mm to 203 mm) of crushed rock aggregate base and that it is tamped down and
prepared for the mortar pour. The sand or concrete layer directly above WinterGard Mesh should be hand tamped only.
IMPORTANT: Do not use sand for sloping areas since the sand will be washed away, resulting in damage to the heating wire.

WARNING: If the heating element needs to be loosened from the mesh to achieve good coverage, the installer should use spacers
