Persons who have not read and understood the operating instructions should not use
the pressure filter!
This device is not intended for use by persons or children with impaired physical, sensory or
intellectual impairments, or if lacking in experience and or know-how, unless they are under
supervision or have been trained in the use of the device by a person responsible for their
safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Application
The VarioPress with built-in UV-C unit is a pressure filter designed for mechanical and partial
biological filtration of pond water of standard ponds with temperatures from +4 º C to 35 º C.
The pressure filter is designed for private use for cleaning garden ponds with or without fish.
It may not be used in or near swimming pools!
For technical information on the pressure filter, see the pressure filter label or the
table on page 2.
Safety instructions
UV-C rays are harmful to eyes and skin. Never look directly into the UV-C lamp
-
when the UV-C of the pressure filter is turned on.
Warning! This pressure filter may only be used if the electrical system meets relevant
-
statutory requirements. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
-
The pressure filter should be connected to a system with a ground-fault interrupter
(FI, 30mA) and earthed power outlet.
-
The mains voltage and current type must match the information on the nameplate.
-
Place the power outlet in a moisture-free area, at least 2m from the water's edge.
(see figure 1, page 2)
-
Check the power cord and plug for damage before using the pressure filter.
-
Important: do not use the pressure filter if the power cord, plug or UV-C is damaged.
Simply return the pressure filter to the retailer where you purchased it.
-
Do not suspend or transport the pressure filter by the power line (cable).
-
Do not move or hang the pressure filter by the power cord.
-
Keep the plug dry. To prevent water from running from the cord to the plug, suspend
the cord in a U-shape (see figure 2, page 2)
-
When working on the pressure filter or in the water, always unplug it from the
electrical outlet to cut off the power supply.
-
Do not use the pressure filter when there are people in the water.
-
The pressure filter should only be used in the water.
-
The pressure filter may only be used for pumping water with temperatures from 5°C
to 35°C.
-
Do not turn on the UV-C of the pressure filter if there is no water flowing through it.
Always turn the connected pump on before turning on the UV-C.
-
Do not open the pressure filter during operation and when there is water flowing
through it.
-
Do not operate the UV-C of the pressure filter at water pressures exceeding 0.2 bar.
-
The height difference between the pressure filter cap and the hose outlet should not
exceed 1m (Figure 1, page 2)
-
The connected pump pressure may not exceed 0.5 bar (maximum working head of
5m).
-
Connect hoses that are designed to work at a minimum pressure of 0.2 bar.
-
Clean the drain hoses and filter regularly to prevent clogging, as this may cause the
pressure in the filter to rise above 0.2 bar, resulting in the filter leaking and the pond
draining.
