5. Clean the terminals and battery cable ends with
a wire brush.
6. Lubricate the terminals with grease or equivalent.
7. Install the battery. Refer to
battery on page 14 .
To replace the battery

Metal items that touch the battery
terminals can cause burn injuries,
electrical shock, and short circuit of the
battery.
1. Find the silver ground screw (A) on the right side
plate of the product, above the right rear tire.

2. Use a 1/2 in. (13 mm) wrench or socket to
remove the silver ground screw. Do not discard
the silver ground screw.
3. Pull the protective sleeve (B) away from the
terminal end (C) on the black (negative) battery
cable.
4. Use a 7/16 in. (11 mm) wrench or socket to
remove the larger red (positive) battery cable (D)
from the starter solenoid.
Note:
Do not remove the smaller red wire from
the wire harness on the solenoid valve.

5. From behind the product, open the battery door
(E) and remove the battery door support (F) from
battery door holders (G).

6. Put the battery door support in the slot (H) below
the battery door.
7. Pull the battery (I), with the 2 cables attached,
out of the battery compartment.
8. Put the battery on the battery door.
9. Disconnect the black (negative) battery cable (J),
remove the bolt and nut.
10. Disconnect the red (positive) battery cable (K),
remove the bolt and nut.
11. Carefully remove the battery from the product.
12. Install a new battery.
13. Connect the red (positive) battery cable (L) with
the bolt (M) and the square nut (N).

14. Connect the black (negative) battery cable with
the bolt and the square nut.
15. Close the battery door and lock it with the battery
door support in the battery door holders.
