WARNING:
The following instructions are for general use in standard
operating conditions. Information in the Motorcycle Safety
Foundation (MSF) instruction manual accompanying the
vehicle takes precedence over this information. In addi-
tion, all drivers should take an accredited course.
BRAKING
This dirt bike is equipped with a hand-operated front brake
and a foot-operated rear brake. Apply brakes in a progres-
sive fashion to prevent wheel lock-up. As a general rule,
aim to brake 70% using the brake lever. By using both front
and rear brakes, you will achieve faster, more stable and
effective braking.
To slow down or stop the dirt bike, apply the front and rear
brakes while downshifting. Slowly increase braking as you
feel your speed reduce.
If you apply the brakes too abruptly, you may lock the wheels,
slide, and loose control of the dirt bike. If this should hap-
pen, release the brakes and steer straight until you have
completely regained control.
Never ride with your foot resting on the brake pedal or your
hand on the brake lever. This could cause your brakes to
overheat and will indicate false braking to other motorists.

OPERATION
SHIFTING GEARS
This dirt bike has a 5-speed transmission with a manual
clutch.
To shift the vehicle through gears 1-5:
 Reduce throttle.
NOTE: Never increase throttle while shifting gears.
 Shift into first gear by pulling in the clutch lever and de-
pressing the gear shift pedal.
 Open throttle gradually and slowly release the clutch le-
ver. Once vehicle has reached adequate speed, release
throttle and pull in clutch lever while lifting the gear shift
pedal with your foot to shift into second gear.
 Open throttle gradually then repeat procedure for the
remaining gears.
 When slowing down or stopping, reduce throttle and apply
the brakes smoothly. As the dirt bike slows down, pull in
the clutch lever and shift to a lower gear by depressing
the gear shift pedal.
Shifting tips:
 Avoid unnecessary idling of the engine at high speeds.
Allowing the dirt bike to idle at high speeds for extended
periods could cause serious engine damage.
 Only shift to the low speed gears when you feel there is
insufficient power to climb hills or continue forward.
 Do not use the front brake only or coast using the neutral
gear, especially when descending a hill or driving at high
speed.
 Decrease throttle when braking.
