ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT

The engine oil to be replaced must be
drained when still hot or lukewarm to
allow the flow of suspended debris
particles.
With completely cold engine oil, debris
tends to settle in the bottom of the oil
sump, then returning to circulation when
the engine is started.
Avoid contact with hot engine parts and
hot oil.
Wear gloves and suitable protective
clothing.
Follow the procedure below :
IMPORTANT
Carry out the operation with the engine
off. Ignition key removed, wait at least
6 minutes before disconnecting the
negative battery cable.
1 - Place a container with suitable capacity
under the point where the old oil is drained
(see fig.2)
2 - Unscrew the filler plug (M) : see fig.1.
3 - Unscrew the drain plug (Q) and remove
the gasket (R).
Let all the oil flow into the container see
fig.2).
4 - Fit a new gasket (R), screw the drain
plug (Q) and tighten to a torque of Nm 54
(see fig.2).
5 - Pour the new oil until it reaches the
correct level on the dipstick (see "Engine oil
level check" on page 53 and "Technical data"
on page 15 for the correct oil quantity).
