CONDITION
Tape does not run.
Tape travel is unsteady .
Reproduced sound is distorted.
Reproduced sound is noisy.
Cannot push REC button.
PROBABLE CAUSE
REMEDY
1) Power cord is unplugged.
2) POWER switch still OFF.
3) PAUSE button is pushed.
4) Tape has reached its end.
Power fuse has blown,
Capstan shaft and/or pinch roller are soiled.
2) Tape winding inside cassette or tape guides if
faulty.
Recording volume !evels are too high.
2) Record/play head is contaminated.
Tape has warped.
Program material itself is distorted.
Record/play head is magnetized.
2) Tape is too old.
3) Program material itself is noisy.
4) Input/output pin plug cords are not plugged in
firmly.
Plug in power cord firmly.
Turn on this switch.
Release PAUSE button.
Turn over cassette or rewind tape.
Clean these parts.
Replace cassette.
Adjust appropriate recording level.
Clean head.
Replace cassette.
Examine program material.
Examine program material.
Plug in cords firmly.
Tabs of cassette are broken off.
