Exercise tips
The exercises and therapeutic advice must be followed with the
agreement and under the supervision of a health professional.
TIPS FOR USE
• For the first two to three weeks, wear the orthosis at all times
while walking. As the complete healing of the ligaments can
take several months, we advise you to wear your orthosis
during sporting or intense activities.
• Applying cold to the injured ankle helps to reduce swelling and
pain. Do not apply heat under any circumstances.
• Elevate the leg as often as possible to reduce swelling.
ACHILLES TENDON EXTENSION
• Put a towel around your foot.
• Extend your leg.
• Pull the towel towards you gently.
• Hold this position for 30 seconds, then release.
FOOT EXTENSION
• Extend your leg.
• Place your foot in maximum extension.
• Stretch your toes upwards.
RECOMMENDED EXERCISES
These exercises should only be performed if the condition of
your ankle allows it and with your doctor's permission. They are
practiced in series of 10, two to three times a day, according to
your doctor's instructions.
If you experience persistent pain, consult your doctor immediately
(see "Warning" below).
"ALPHABET" EXERCISE
• Cross your legs with the injured ankle on top.
• "Trace" the letters of the alphabet with your big toe.
