Preparing the Pencil Cart (Required for ISO 15184,
Optional for ASTM D3363 & EN 13523-4):
The PosiTest PT Pencil Hardness Test Cart assists operators by
exerting a consistent force while holding the pencil at the specified 45°
angle during testing.
Prepare the PosiTest PT Pencil Hardness Test Cart as follows:
1. Place the cart on a hard level surface
2. Place the Leveling Rod under the center of the cart
3. Loosen the thumbscrew on the side of the pencil cart by twisting
counterclockwise
4. Gently insert the selected pencil into the angled hole on the top of
the cart until it rests on the surface to be tested
5. Secure the pencil by twisting the thumbscrew clockwise
6. Remove the Leveling Rod from under the cart
