removing the rechargeable batteries (optional)
If you choose to remove the rechargeable batteries of the massager and the candles yourself before
you hand them in at an official collection point, follow the instructions below.
massager
Do not use sharp tools, such as knives or screwdrivers, to open the massager.
1
Let the massager operate until it stops.
2
Put the massager in the battery-removal bag supplied.
3
Put the battery-removal bag with the massager in it in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
4
Take the bag from the freezer. Immediately put the bag on the ground and stamp on it with
your foot to break the massager.
Caution: Only do this while wearing solid shoes. Attempting this with bare feet could cause
injuries.
Note: If the above treatment has not broken the massager, repeat steps 3 and 4.
5
Open the bag and take out the massager parts.
6
Unscrew the printed circuit board from the rechargeable battery with a flat-head
screwdriver.

Removing the rechargeable batteries of the candles must be left to professionals!
Always take the candles to a Philips service centre to have the rechargeable batteries removed by
professionals.

2
Put the screwdriver onto the battery housing (cover plate) at approximately 5mm from the
outer edge of the battery housing and the candle wall (Fig. 14).
3
Beat on the screwdriver with the hammer to create slots in the cover plate along the outer
edge of the battery housing until the cover plate breaks (Fig. 15).
4
Remove the cover plate from the battery housing (Fig. 16).
5
Lift the rechargeable battery out of the candle (Fig. 17).
Note: Dispose of batteries at an official collection point for batteries.
