Introduction
Symbol Technologies' Series 3800 portable terminals combine laser
scanner and keyboard in a single, hand-held package. The 3800 and
3824 terminals perform Spectrum One radio communications. The
3840 terminal performs Spectrum 24 radio communications, and
the 3805 offers direct communications. All terminals are available
with a long-range laser or high-visibility laser operated by two-level
trigger.

This guide contains general information for the terminal operator.

Power On and Off

Note: Charge the battery fully before using the terminal.
To turn a Series 3800 on or off, press the PWR button shown below.

Force Power Off
If pressing the PWR button does not turn the terminal off, you
should force the power off to reduce battery drain and preserve
your data.
To force power off, press and hold the PWR button for 15 seconds,
until the terminal powers down.
Do not attempt to turn on and continue using the terminal. Return
the terminal to your system administrator to recover the data and
correct the problem.
