SAFETY FIRST
Safety is essential in the use and maintenance of Southwire
Equipment. This instruction manual and any placards or markings on
the equipment provide information for avoiding hazards and unsafe
practice. Observe all the safety information provided.
These symbols are used to call attention to hazards or unsafe practices
that could result in injury or property damage. The three safety
words defined below indicate the severity of the hazard. The message
after the safety word provides information for preventing or avoiding
the hazard.
DANGER – Immediate hazards that if not avoided WILL result
in severe injury or death
WARNING – Hazards that if not avoided COULD result in
severe injury or death
CAUTION – Hazards or unsafe practices that, if not avoided
MAY result in severe injury or death

• Read and understand all instructions and safety information in this
manual before operating or servicing
• Wear eye protection, hard hat, insulating gloves, and safety steel-toed
shoes while using this equipment
• Do not use or service under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Risk of electric shock - Disconnect all power input sources before
servicing
• Risk of electric shock - Disconnect all welding packs or inverters
before servicing
• Risk of electric shock – Proper Grounding Techniques – Unit requires
grounding.
o In the event of a short circuit, an electrical ground
provides a path of least resistance for the electric current.
This path of least resistance is intended to reduce the risk
of electric shock. This input power system must include
an electrical ground.
o Improper Connection of the equipment can result in a risk
of electric shock. Check with qualified electrician or
service personnel if the grounding instructions are not
completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the
equipment is properly connected.
WARNING: Verify with Rack Manufacturer that Additional Weight of
Modular Does not Exceed Rating of Lifting Eyes on rack.
