Selecting the speed controller to be used
The number of MSC 50s used depends on several parameters:
• Pitch angle/angle of inclination of the conveying system
• Conveying/infeed speed
• Weight of the material to be conveyed
• Material and length of the material to be conveyed
• Target speed at the end of the conveyor
Indications for a basic calculation and a basic layout
• Test with incline of 2° to 25° (higher inclines permissible, varying results possible)
• Weights up to 10 kg: Max. distance from 2000 mm
• Weights up to 20 kg: Distance of 800 mm–1500 mm
• Weights up to 35 kg: Distance adapted to the container length
• In the case of high infeed speeds of more than 1 m/s into the gravity conveyor, we recommend installing three
to four speed controllers over a length of approx. 800 mm in order to achieve a maximum reduction in speed
immediately. The distance values given above can be applied.
• Infeed conveyors should not have any MSC 50s on the first 1000 mm from the loading side to prevent the
controlled loading point from becoming blocked with slow moving goods.
For safe operation, the final layout, and thus the number of MSC 50s used, must be determined by the
user on the basis of the intended specific use.
