the black clamp (H) to the minus terminal of the battery. Be
careful not to reverse the polarity!
4. Connect the power mains adaptor to a suitable 230 V wall
plug. The charging/discharging process now starts automati-
cally.
For batteries with a small capacity this process may take only
a few minutes; in the case of larger batteries it can take up to
several days. Therefore, charging and discharging times may
vary widely.
The green LED (B) lights up during the charging process, the
red LED (D) lights up during the discharging cycle.
When the battery is discharged, the unit switches between
charging and discharging until the green LED indicates steady
charging. This may take up to several days. If the unit does not
switch into a steady charging mode, the battery does not have
sufficient capacity anymore and should be replaced.
Terminating the Charging Process
1. To quit the charging/discharging process, unplug the unit from
the power mains. While the unit remains connected to the
battery the green LED may remain illuminated.
2. First remove the clamp on the minus terminal, and then
remove the clamp on the plus terminal.
3. Install the battery in the vehicle and connect it. Pay attention to
the proper polarity.
