Introduction
If you do not use your motorcycle or car during the winter
months, the battery should be removed and stored in a dry and
cool place. Unfortunately the battery will lose much of its
charge over the winter and may not be able to start the vehicle
in spring and may even be damaged. You can avoid all this by
using the battery trainer. It keeps the battery ready to use and
the battery is kept fit by constantly being charged and dis-
charged. This way it is kept in a good condition and ready to
use.
With this battery trainer you can charge all lead/acid and lead
gel batteries with a nominal voltage of 12 volt and a nominal
capacity of 10 Ah to 250 Ah.
Before first Use
Remove the battery trainer form the packaging and dispose of
the packaging material carefully or store in a safe place.
Plastic bags might become a deadly toy for children!

according to this manual.
Principle of Operation
This device is designed to train 12 V lead-acid batteries and
maintenance-free 12 V lead-acid batteries and to preserve the
charge of such batteries.
The battery trainer charges and discharges a lead-acid battery
with a constant current. This way the permissible voltage per
cell can not be exceeded. When the permissible voltage is
reached, the charger turns off and prevents overcharging the
battery.
After that, the unit switches to discharging the battery until the
lowest permissible voltage is reached.
