The generator operates by default in Fieldbus mode, meaning the high voltage cannot be
changed using the keys on the generator. It is only possible to change the high voltage via
control of the target system.
Raise the output voltage via the target system until the correct result is achieved. Then set the
output voltage approx. 10% higher to accommodate process fluctuations.
Limit indicator
The Limit indicator on the front panel of the generator indicates that the generator is limited.
This means that the desired (set) high voltage value is not reached.
Correcting the "Too many arcs error"
When "Too many Arcs ERROR!" appears on the display, more than 10 sparks/minute (arcing
of the high voltage) have been detected. The generator is protected and in this situation the
high voltage switches off.
This error situation can be corrected by pressing the [ESC] key on the keyboard. When the high
voltage is switched on and off via bus communication, this error situation can also be corrected
by switching the high voltage off and then on again via the bus. If the generator is operating in
the external remote on/off mode, the error can also be corrected by switching the high voltage
off and then on again via the external switching signal.

6. Functional check

After switching on the generator, the limit indicator light flashes for 1 to 2 seconds. The
background lighting of the display then slowly illuminates and the following information is briefly
displayed: the generator type, the firmware version, the set bus address and in some cases
other relevant information. During normal operation the generator displays the currently
measured voltage and current and the operating mode.
Once the generator is working normally, the limit indicator only illuminates if there is a problem
with the high voltage, namely if the set voltage or current cannot be supplied to the output.
Possible causes of overload are:
-
Fouling of the charging bar/electrode.
-
Direct contact between conductive material and the emitters.
-
The charging bar has been fitted too close to conductive (machine) parts.
To correct the overload, see section 9 in the full manual.
When the generator is operating in fieldbus mode with problem-free communication, this is
shown by the rotating dash on the screen (see section 6.5 in the full manual).
