The Advantages of your
Coffee Maker
. Aroma guide
The Cocoon coffee maker is equipped with a
water measuring system and is sensitive to
the coarseness of the coffee grounds. This
ensures a good cup of coffee every time
regardless of the number of cups being
prepared..
. Hermetica Cocoon Jug
The heat sealing jug has a lid without a hole
and insulated mesh on the spout.
This considerably reduces heat loss and helps
to maintain the aroma and flavour of the coffee.
It prevents outside air from oxydising the coffee
and also prevents the aroma from evaporating.
Using the Coffee Maker
1/
- When using for the first time run the machine
with a full container of water but without
12
coffee.
- Fill the container with cold water only.
- Follow the double graduated measures on
the water container:
- The water line indicates the amount of coffee
required.
- Pivot the filter paper holder out and remove
the measuring spoon. Insert a No. 4 filter
paper or a permanent Moulinex filter, and
add the ground coffee measured with the
spoon.

Remember to replace the lid on the jug, by
inserting it from the front of the coffee maker.
- Turn the coffee maker on by pressing the
control button.
For your safety the pilot light on the switch
informs you if the coffee maker is working.
You may pour a cup of coffee before all the
water has passed through the filter because
this coffee maker has a drip-stopper which
prevents coffee dripping on to the hot plate.
- Replace the coffee jug quickly after serving
to prevent the filter holder from overflowing.
Warning
- Never fill the water tank when your coffee
maker is still hot.
If you do so, this will cause the «Calc Sensor»
light to illuminate.
- Before preparing coffee for the 2nd time, or
rinsing or descaling, leave your coffee maker
to cool down for 5 minutes before filling it
again.
Cleaning
- Unplug the appliance. Never immerse the
coffee maker in water.
- The jug and the filter holder can be washed
in the dishwasher.
. Descaling
- This should be carried out after 40 uses. For
the model with a Limescale Sensor,
descale when the descaling light is
repeatedly lit. If the descaling light comes
on when it is not due, do not worry, this can
happen if the coffee maker is used without
water in the container. The light will not light
up next time.
- To descale your coffee maker you can use:
. A sachet of descaling powder diluted in 1/2 l
of water
or
. 2 cups of white wine vinegar
- Pour either of the above into the water con-
tainer. Start the coffee maker without coffee,
leave the equivalent of one cup of water to
flow into the jug, then switch the machine
off.
- Leave the vinegar or descaling solution to
descale for 1 hour.
- Switch the appliance on again to process
the remaining solution.
- Rinse the appliance by running the machine
two or three times with cold water only.
