5. Connecting a Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk
To connect a Serial ATA hard disk to the IDE port on the
motherboard:
Make sure that the SATA-IDE adapter is already supplied
with power (point 4).
Using the two switches on the SATA-IDE adapter, select
your desired host mode. You have the following options:
After selecting an IDE host mode, plug the SATA-IDE
adapter into a free ATA (IDE) port on the mainboard.
Then use the included SATA cable to connect the SATA
hard drive that you would like to connect to the PC to
the SATA-IDE adapter. Make sure you connect the SATA
cable to the port labelled "To Drive" on the SATA-IDE
adapter.

6. Connecting an ATA (IDE) hard disk
To connect an ATA (IDE) hard disk to the SATA port on the
mainboard:
Make sure that the SATA-IDE adapter is already supplied
with power (point 4).
Next, plug the SATA-IDE adapter into the ATA port on the
hard disk. You can use the included power adapter to
supply the hard disk with power.
Using the included SATA cable, connect the adapter to
the SATA port on the motherboard. Make sure you con-
nect the SATA cable to the port labelled "To Computer"
on the SATA-IDE adapter.
