Adjusting the drive clutch cable
The clutch will slip and the power carrier may not move unless the drive
clutch cable is adjusted properly.
Inspection
1.Remove the belt cover.
2.Move the drive clutch lever to the STOP position.
3.Measure the length '' '' of the belt tension spring with the drive
clutch lever in the STOP position.
4.Move the drive clutch lever to the DRIVE position, and again measure
the length '' '' of the belt tension spring.
5.The difference between the two measurements should be between:
5.0–7.0 mm (0.20–0.28 in)
Adjustment
If the difference is below 5 mm (0.20 in), adjust the cable as follows:
1.Move the drive clutch lever to the STOP position and loosen the cable
lock nut.
2.Turn the adjusting nut until the difference is 7 mm (0.28 in).
3.After the adjustment, tighten the lock nut securely.
