Whatever the setting chosen, when the fire box
door is lifted, the present mechanism will auto-
matically bring the fume valve to the "fully open"
position, thus preventing smoke from escaping
into the room. When the door is closed again, the
valve will automatically return to the previously
set position.

4.6 Adding fuel

During operation, to add fuel, it is necessary to
follow this procedure:
• Slowly open the fire door to avoid creating an
air depression in the fire box which could cause
possible puffs of smoke into the room.
• Refill the fire box with fuel and then close the
fire door.
Do not overheat the product by insert-
ing an excess quantity of fuel.
Introduce fuel when the embers have
formed and the flame has lowered.
The appliance is equipped with a bypass valve
(VDF
), which, upon opening, facilitates the
®
escape of smoke into the flue, minimising puffs
of smoke into the room.
