Cutting blades jammed
Overheating
Carbon build-up on spark plug
Blocked/choked carburettor
REDUCED ENGINE POWER/SPEED DURING USE
POSSIBLE FAULT
Blocked air filter.
Carbon build-up in engine and/or
entry to exhaust silencer.
Carbon build-up on spark plug.
Blocked/choked carburettor.
CANNOT ATTACH GRASS CATCHER
POSSIBLE FAULT
Handle installed incorrectly.
Check that there is an adequate amount of fuel. Some 4-stroke engines
feature an engine oil sensor which will turn off the engine automatically or
will not allow you to start it if it detects low engine oil level.
Remove jammed material off the blades. Should there be any obstacles in the
work area (stones, roots, etc.) avoid them or raise the cutting height.
Allow the engine to cool before restarting it. Ensure that the air filter vents
and heat dissipation surface are clean and free from debris. If possible,
improve engine cooling such as operating at lower temperatures.
Remove the spark plug and clean any carbon from the electrodes before
re-installing it.
Clean the carburettor.
Clean air filter.
Remove the engine cylinder head and clean any carbon from the combustion
chamber. For the exhaust silencer, remove it and clean any carbon deposits
from the exhaust entry port.
Remove the spark plug and clean any carbon from the electrodes before
re-installing it.
Clean the carburettor.
For models that do not have spigots on the handle mounting brackets, ensure
the handle is installed against the outer face of the mounting brackets.
