The measuring principle of the diagnostic scale
This scale determines the body weight, bodyfat, body water
and the percentage of muscle according to the principle of
Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA). With this process, an
imperceptible, completely safe and harmless current enables
the determination of body tissue proportions within seconds.
This measurement of electrical resistance (impedance) and
the inclusion of constants and/or individual values (age, height,
gender) can be used to determine the percentage of fat, water
and muscle in the body. Muscle tissue and water have good
electrical conductivity, as the fat cells hardly conduct the
current due to their very high resistance.
Weighing correctly
3
If possible, always weighs yourself at the same time of day
(ideally in the morning), after going to the toilet, on an empty
stomach and without clothes to achieve comparable results.
Minor deviations are normal. When you drink 1 glass of water
for example a difference of 300 grams can occur. Place the
1
scale on a firm, flat surface; a firm floor covering is a basic
requirement for correct weight measurement.
Your scale is an accurate instrument. The human body is the
hardest thing to weigh, because it is always in motion. Therefore
2
a 99% accuracy of the body weight is the highest possible. Stand
on the scale without moving and with equal weight distribution
on both feet!
Do not underestimate the weight of clothing and when you have
just eaten or drunken anything. Only the long-term trend counts.
