TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Definition: product according to EN 13240. The appliance works as an intermittent operating appliance.
The chimney stoves of La Nordica are suitable to heat living spaces for some periods or to support an insufficient centralized heating
system. They are ideal for holiday apartments and weekend houses or as an auxiliary heating system during the whole year. As fuel,
it is possible to use wood logs.
The appliance is made up of a series of cast-iron elements joined to one another by a fixed joint, while the seal is assured by
refractory putty. The assembly is supported by tie rods and nuts located outside the heating body.
The devices are equipped with an integrated air circuit for the recovery of the heat made up of deflectors (radiant fins) on all external
surfaces of the heating body.
The devices are equipped with a hearth with double thickness rear part made up of a drilled extractible plate.
Through these holes, pre-heated air gets into the hearth; in this way, it is possible to achieve a post-combustion with an increase of
the yield and a reduction of emissions of unburnt gases.
The fireplace is equipped with a sight door with ceramic glass (resistant up to 700°C). This allows a charming sight on burning flames.
Moreover, in this way, any possible leak of sparks and smoke is avoided.
Room heating takes place:
a)
By irradiation: through the panoramic glass and the external hot surfaces of the stove, the heat is radiated into the environment;
b)
By natural convection: the passage of air through the coating and the covering hood releases heat in the
c)
By forced convection: a ventilation kit suitable to improve the distribution of heat by ventilation only either of the installation
room or of the adjacent local.

The device is equipped with registers of primary and secondary air.
A- PRIMARY air register
With the primary air control is adjusted the passage of air through the ash drawer and the grate in the fuel direction. The primary air
is necessary for the combustion process. The ash drawer must be regularly emptied, so that the ash does not obstruct the primary
air entry. Through the primary air the fire is also kept alive.
During wood combustion, the register of primary air must be opened only for a while, because otherwise the wood burns fast and
the stove may overheat. For the correct arrangement (see chapter Normal operation).
B - SECONDARY air register
Over the door of the hearth there is the secondary air control. This regulator must be open (the lever must be moved to the right),
especially for wood combustion, so that un-burnt carbon does not undergo a post-combustion. See chapter Normal operation.
Through this register it is possible to adjust the power of the stove.
Leaving it slightly open, according to the flue of the chimney, it is possible to keep the glass clean.
The adjustment of the registers necessary to reach the rated calorific yield is the following one:

C - AIR REGISTER for the heating of the environment
This register, through a fan controlled by a thermoregulator pos. D, adjusts the
warm air output ONLY from the front side of the appliance.
D - FAN ELECTRIC THERMOCONTROLLER
UNIT OPERATION.
This electronic thermocontroller for packaged units manages ventilation air
flows. The unit is switched on or off by pressing and holding the 1 button. During
operation the display shows the set speed alternating with unit status, led 9.
When the unit is off, the display also remains off. The unit can be controlled
MANUALLY or AUTOMATICALLY.
WARNING: the correct operation of the unit is assured only for the
proper motor for which it has been manufactured. Improper use relieves the manufacturer from each responsibility.
MANUAL mode
To access MANUAL mode, press the 2 button; when the 3 light comes on the function is active. The 4-5 buttons are used to select
one of the five fan speeds, also active when the flue is cold.
The motor is started in automatic mode by a mechanical thermostat (the display shows WAIT), which is activated when the
temperature is at least 45°C (fixed value, not modifiable). The 6 led indicates that the thermostat contact is closed.
