8. Make sure that no errors appear on the Display, otherwise look for the cause.
9. If present, sequentially close the circuit breakers of the PV modules, or if no circuit breakers are present,
use the menu function 7.5 "PAUSE charge"=ON to make the connections of the PV modules directly with
the MC4 connectors. Then set "PAUSE charge"=OFF and check in Menu 1.0, 3.0 and 4.0 that the values
are congruent and that the system starts charging according to the current irradiation condition.
Further checks
10. In menu 5.x reset the counters
11. If the system is connected to the internet, check that after at least one minute, the time on the Menu 1.0
screen is correct. This means that the connection with the server was successful. Otherwise, recheck the
ETHERNET connection, check that in menu 7.3 the CONNECTION item is ON and DHCP=ON and wait for
the next reconnection attempt (60s). In menu 7.4 on "STATUS" you can read in real time if the system is
ON-Line or OFF-Line. If the error persists, investigate the type of error generated in menu 6.0.
12. In menu 7.1 make sure that the UTC is correct (in Italy UTC +1)
3.2. Shutdown
CAUTION:
The system must be switched off in the following sequence
The system must be switched off in the reverse sequence to the switch-on sequence, i.e.: first the PV modules
must be switched off and then the battery (to disable the PV modules, use the menu function 7.5 "PAUSE charge"
= ON). When disconnecting, disassemble the signal cables first and always leave the battery minus cable as the
last cable to be disconnected. This is because even after switching off, there may still be some charged capacitors
and if a stable ground reference is not ensured, discharge paths may be created on the signal cables which may
damage delicate electronic parts.
4. OTHER FEATURES / FUNCTIONS
4.1 Slave mode
The WRM60 X SL (Slave) is the charging unit used for power expansion; therefore, it needs to be part of the
Western WRD System via a WBUS connection in order to function. Without this communication, the controller is
disabled after approximately 10sec.
In addition to the charging unit, the WRM60 X (Master) also incorporates the control unit required to implement
the WESTERN WRD SYSTEM. (see §1.1.)
In a multi-charger configuration, a different address must be assigned to each device. The "SETTINGS" dip-switch
allows the address of the device to be selected from 1 to 15 (see §4.3.).
With the address set from 1 to 15 the charger of the WRM60 X operates as a slave on the Western WRD System
bus and therefore expects to be controlled by the master which is represented on the bus by the device with the
Display (WRD).
4.2 Stand-alone modes
The WRM60 X SL (Slave) is designed primarily for use with the WBUS. However, with the Settings dip-switches all
set to OFF, the WRM60 X can operate in Stand-alone mode i.e. without WBUS, with the latest settings stored in
its memory. This mode requires pre-configuration of the WRM60 X via WRD (with address 32).
