INSTALLATION AND TEST
IMPORTANT: Before installing your PROTRONIK ESC, please note that it is not protected against reverse polarity.
Please be very careful when the motor is connected to the controller. It can be very dangerous to your body and other animals.
1 / INSTALLATION
POWER SUPPLY CONNECTORS INSTALLATION
RED and BLACK wire are for power supply input.
Please use high quality gold connectors (PK 2 / 4 / 6 mm, depending on the current).
Solder RED wire to the positive connector and BLACK wire to the negative connector in accordance to your battery connectors.
Use tube shrinks to protect connectors.
MOTOR CONNECTION
Use tube shrink on each motor wire.
Solder motor wires on the three output ESC wires (you can aloso use connectors).
Use tube shrinks to protect connectors.
Verify that the motor turn in the wright direction. If not, you can either invert two of the three connectors, or inverse direction
by programming card.
RECEIVER CONNECTION
Connect the ESC plug (JR / Futaba / Graupner compatible) on the gaz connector of the receiver.
Central pin of this connector is the positive pin. Never connect a battery to the receiver at the same time as it may damage ESC.
You are now ready to set the ESC parameters before flying.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if you decide to use an external battery or UBEC, it is necessary to disconnect the central pin (positive) from the plug and
protect it with a tube shrink.
2 / UTILISATION
Please verify one more time all the connections. You can now use your PROTRONIK ESC.
It is setup with factory default settings. So it is essential to program your ESC before the first flight, except if these settings are ok for you (LiPo,
brake Off, timing Auto).
1. Place throttle stick in iddle position
2. Switch on the transmitter.
3. Connect the power pack to the PROTRONIK controller (or external battery / UBEC for an OPTO controller).
4. Your ESC play a music
5. If you hear one beep, brake is FULL. If you hear 3 beeps, break SOFT. If you hear 2 beeps, brake is OFF.
6. You can fly.
3 / PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS
Please program your controller before flying or after changing battery type for example, except if these settings are ok for you (LiPo, brake OFF,
timing Auto).
You can access programming mode in two ways:
-
From your transmitter, using the throttle stick at power on.
-
Using PROTRONIK EPRG‐3 programming card (option).
3.1 TRANSMITTER PROGRAMING
3.1.1 Enter in programing mode:
1. Place throttle stick in full position
2. Switch on the transmitter.
