Assembly
Replacing the cutting mechanism
WARNING! Risk of injury! Before chang-
ing the cutting mechanism, always fit the
blade guard.
► P. 4, item 3
– Keep the unlock button (7) pressed.
– Remove the cutting unit as shown.
– Fit the cutting mechanism (1) as shown.
► P. 4, item 4
– Ensure that the driving pin (18) grips into the bore-
hole (19).
► P. 4, item 5
– Allow the cutting unit to engage audibly.
Mounting the handle rod
WARNING! Risk of injury! The push bar
may only be used in combination with the
edge cutting unit and not with the cutting unit
for the hedge trimmer.
WARNING! Risk of injury! When working
above ground height, the handle rod may not
be used.

– Insert the push bar (3) as shown into the device
and ensure that it clicks into place.
– Press the release button (7) and set the push bar
to the required angle.
► P. 5, item 7
– Insert the wheels (8) as shown into the device and
ensure that they click into place.
► P. 5, item 8
– Undo the clamping sleeve (2).
– Set the handle rod (3) to the required length.
– Tighten the clamping sleeve (2) back up again.
Operation
Charging the battery pack
Note: Rechargeable battery and charger
are not part of the scope of delivery and are
available optionally from your dealer
(► Accessories – p. 25).
WARNING! Risk of injury! Comply with all
safety instructions when handling recharge-
able devices.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not allow the battery pack to deep discharge.
Note: If the battery is fully loaded, the
charger automatically switches over to the
maintenance charge function. The battery
can thus remain in the charger permanently.
The battery pack must be charged prior to the first
start-up (charging time: ► Technical data – p. 24).

– Press in the locking button (15) and remove the
battery from the device.

– Insert the battery pack into the charger.
– Plug the charger into the power supply.
The charging status is displayed by the control
lights (16).
– Slot the battery pack into the device and make
sure it clicks into place correctly.
Checking the remaining capacity of the battery
– Press the button (14).
The remaining capacity of the battery is displayed by
the control lights (13).
Switching on and off
– Remove blade guard.

– Switching on: Push the switch lock (4) forward
and simultaneously press the On/Off switch (5).
– Switching off: Release the On/Off switch (5).
– After switching off wait until the blade is stationary.
– Mount blade guard.
Cutting edges
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Ensure that the cutting mechanism does not
come into contract with paved floors, stones
or garden walls.
If foreign objects should get caught up in the
cutting unit then switch off the device imme-
diately.
Note: When cutting larger areas of grass,
we recommend using the handle rod
– Guide the device along the edge of the lawn.
Cutting hedges
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Be
especially careful when working near
fences!
If cut material such as fence wire or similar
material should get caught up in the cutting
unit then switch off the device immediately.
NOTICE! Risk of environmental damage!
Work with the hedge trimmer is not allowed
during customary rest periods.
Before cutting a hedge, check that there are
no birds nesting.
– Trim smoothly with the broad side of the cutting
equipment. Do not push the point into the hedge.
