Connect the 3 antennas to the antenna connections on the back of the C300APRA2.
Connect the power supply to the power connection on the back of the C300APRA2 and to a free wall
power outlet. The Power LED on the front of the C300APRA2 will turn on.
3.1 Connecting the ADSL line
Most ADSL providers require a splitter between your phone line and the ADSL modem that prevents the
ADSL line from interfering with regular telephone services. Not using such a splitter could lead to
connection problems or bad performance.
Note:
The C300APRA2 is not delivered with a splitter for the ADSL connection. Please contact your
telephone or internet provider for the correct ADSL splitter.
The connection ports of an ADSL splitter are typically labelled as following:
• Line
: This port connects to the wall jack
• ADSL
: This port connects to the router
• Phone : This port connects to a telephone or other telephone device
Make sure the lines are properly connected. If you are unable to hear a dial tone with the telephone,
check the connections to make sure the cables are securely attached and connected to the correct port.
3.2 LAN / wireless LAN connection
For LAN cable users:
Connect the LAN cable to 1 of the 4 LAN ports on the back panel of the C300APRA2 and to the network
card of your computer.
The LAN LED of the used LAN port will turn on, indicating that the computer is connected. (Your LAN
connection must be enabled and your computer turned on).
For wireless users:
Chapter 3.3 on the following pages shows an example of creating a wireless connection with the
C300APRA2. This example is based on the standard Microsoft Wireless Client application, which is
integrated in Windows Vista with Service Pack 1. If you are using a different operating system and/or
application for your wireless client, the steps that need to be taken could be different. In that case you
might need to refer to the manual of your wireless network card on how to create a connection with a
wireless network.
Note:
By default the wireless connection of the C300APRA2 is not encrypted. This means that
everyone with a wireless network card within the range of your wireless network can connect to
the C300APRA2. We strongly suggest to secure your wireless connection by using the WPS feature
as explained in chapter 6 or manually configure it as explained in chapter 5.3.
