TRAYNOR BASS MASTER YBA-1 MOD1
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before turning on the amplifier, connect a speaker cable from one of the rear speaker
jacks to a speaker cabinet.
2. Use the impedance switch to match the impedance of the 4 or 8 ohm speaker cabinet
being used.
3. Rotate the rear panel Attenuator switch to the desired output level.
4. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
5. With the front panel OPERATE switch set to the Standby position (downward), flip the
rear panel A.C. On switch up into the on position.
6. Leave the unit in standby mode while the tubes warm up for about 1 minute and then flip
the front panel OPERATE switch into the operate position. The Bass Master YBA-1 MOD1
amp is now ready to use!
INPUTS AND CONTROLS
1. The YBA-1 MOD1 is equipped with HI (0 dB) and LO (-6 dB) input jacks. Typically the HI
jack is used but you may choose to plug into the LO jack instead if you are trying to obtain
cleaner tones from your amp.
2. The Traynor Bass Master YBA-1 MOD1 is an internally jumpered, two channel amplifier.
The channels have been designed with varying input sensitivities and frequency
responses. Channel I is the brighter, higher gain channel while Channel II is the darker,
lower gain channel. Each channel has its own independent volume control.
3. By using the push/pull switch on Volume II, the amp's two channels can be configured to
run in parallel or series.
PARALLEL (switch in): In parallel mode, you are able to blend the sound of the two
input channels. You can disable either channel by turning its Volume control all the way
down. Experiment to see what mix works best with your guitar and speaker cabinet.
SERIES (switch out): By switching the amp into Series mode, you are able to
cascade the gains of the input channels. This can result in a much richer distortion
as compared to the Parallel mode. In this mode, the Volume I and Volume II controls
essentially operate as a Gain and Master Volume control.
