PLAYING RULES
Here are the simplified rules for playing individually and in teams. The first team to score 10 points wins.
THE SERVE: The game starts with a random draw. The
serve by the player who has won the random draw or scored
a goal is made from the five-man rod, ball stopped.
RESUMING GAME PLAY: During a foosball match, the ball
is placed at the two-man rod of the team who did not last
have possession of the ball. A ball that is declared dead
between two bars is given to the two-man rod of the team
where it stopped. A ball that is declared dead between the
five-man rods shall be given back to the five-man rod of the
team that originally served that ball.
"READY": For any serve or resuming game play, the player
must ask "Ready?" and wait for their opponent to respond,
"Ready!".
WINGERS: Goals scored by the front wingers are authorized
on both sides.
RETAKES: Retakes are authorized for doubles and singles.
12
Do not sit or climb on the foosball table,
as it could collapse and/or break.
To avoid the rods being twisted: Do not
carry the foosball table by the rods,
do not lean on the rods, do not hang
from the rods, do not hit the rods, and
generally do not exert pressure on the
rods.
When handling or moving the foosball
table, we advise handling it via its body
(main section).
Individually, a ball served from the five-man rod and
controlled by the front players (ball deviated between
two players, stuck behind player or blocked) can be struck
immediately, without waiting for the opponent. The same
applies for a ball that has deflected off either of the two
players on either side of the goal. The shot is not counted
as a retake.
SPINNING: Spinning is authorized as long as the rod does
not rotate more than once before or after striking.
BOUNCES: A bounce (ball gone into goal and bounced back
out) is only worth one point, a normal serve from the five-
man rod follows. No points are removed.
CHANGING POSITION: Players on a team can change
position (front/rear) during a match or during a break.
FIVE-MAN RODS: Goals scored with players on a five-man
rod are counted. When clearing the rears, the opposing
team can move their five-man rods. Tackles, slides or

the player's side. Do not put your
hands inside the playing area

areas where there's a pinch or
entrapment risk.
