4. System Installation

4.1 Installing the hardware
1 Connect the mini USB port on the Setup Interface using the USB cable
(included in delivery) to a PC. The USB connection powers the Setup
Interface so that the interface does not need any other power supply.

Turn the PC on and wait until it has booted up completely. The operat-
ing system will recognize that the Setup Interface is connected. It will
ask for the drivers associated with the Setup Interface.
 Insert the supplied program CD into the PC's CD drive.
4 Install the drivers from the CD ((USB-RS232 bridge FT232R from
FTDI). Follow the directions given by the installation program.
5 Once the drivers have been successfully installed, the operating sys-
tem will recognize the Setup Interface automatically.
6 Before connecting a pressure switch, use the toggle switch on the
Setup Interface to select the type of switching output (PNP or NPN).
 Connect the pressure switch to the M12 socket on the Setup Interface.
The pressure switch will be supplied with voltage (10 volts) from the
Setup Interface. This hardware installation is then finished.
