6. Rotate the tension adjustment hand wheel to increase the chain tension ( fig.9).
7. Following instruction in "adjusting chain tension" section.
8. Tighten the hand wheel to make sure the chain bar with saw chain has been securely
tightened.
Always carry out a test run before starting work and after every tool change!
Always ensure that the tools are in good condition, correctly mounted and able to
turn freely. The trial run should be at last 30 sec.
The saw chain has very sharp edges. Use protective gloves for safety.
To adjust the chain tension as follows:
1 With the saw still on a firm surface check the chain tension. The tension is correct when
the chain snaps back after being pulled 3mm away from the guide bar with light force
from the middle finger and thumb. There should be no sag between the guide bars.
2 Rotate the hand wheel to lose the sprocket cover first, but do not remove it.
3 Rotate the Tension adjustment hand wheel to increase or reduce the chain tension.
4 Once chain tension is correct, please always tighten the hand wheel.
Do not over tension the chain as this will lead to excessive wear and will reduce
the life of bar and chain. Over tensioning also reduce the amount of cuts you
should get.
the chain saw is shipped without oil in it, the chain saw must never be used without oil
or with an oil level that is below the indicator.
Warning, always ensure that the chainsaw is switched off ad the plug is removed from the
power point before making any adjustments.
