Make sure the timer has been stopped (press [START / STOP] to stop the timer if timer is
running) before you change the counting option.
Firstly reset the timer value by pressing [CLEAR] once. The display is at zero. Then press
the button [SYNC]. Keep holding the button [SYNC] and press the button [CLEAR] once.
This changes between Countdown And Up and Count-down Repeat, which will be echoed
on the upper display together with the indication of icons
At the end of selection, release [SYNC] to confirm.
When timer starts from zero under countdown-then-up operation, it will become a count-
up timer. This will show an elapsed time. You can stop and then restart the timer as often
as you wish.
Besides the count-up option, you can have preset countdown timing intervals. You have
to choose the pre-programmed period. Before setting the pre-programmed period, stop
the timer and reset the timer to zero. While holding the [SYNC] button, press [PROG]
button once press to scroll through each setting of "5-4-1-0" minute, 5 minute, 3 minute
and 1 minute period. The selection will be shown on the dot matrix as well as the
corresponding icons.
Finally, release [SYNC] to confirm.
Having defined the operation mode and selected the program period, you can program
the timer value before starting the timer.
If count-down then up mode has been selected, you can set multiples of the pre-
programmed-period as the chosen value with the use of the [PROG] button. Say,
multiples of five can be set to programs "5-4-1-0" minute or 5 minute while multiples of
three can be assigned to 3-minute and for 1-minute program, the timer value can be
incremented by one for each press of the [PROG] button.
For example, you are going to set the timer to 15 minutes under "5-4-1-0" minute
program.
Press [PROG] once to increment the timer by 5 minutes.

Press [PROG] again to increase the timer to 10 minutes.
With the third pressing, the timer will be added by another 5 minutes to 15.
On the other hand, in countdown repeat mode, you can only have one period of 5,4,1,0.,
5 minutes or 3 minutes. You can have any multiples of 1 minute; up to 59 minutes.
How the timer works
a)

Operation mode: - Count-down then up
Press [START/STOP] to start the timer. The timer will count up from zero in minutes and
seconds up to a maximum of 59 minutes and 59 seconds. The display will also show a
flashing up arrow icon
to denote count-up.
b)
Programmable timer value :- 00.00
Operation mode: - Count-down repeat
NOTE:
It is not possible to start the timer with zero programmable value under count-
down repeat mode. This is not a fault of the timer, but just an attempt to get the timer to
perform an impossible task.
c)
Programmable timer value: - ? minutes
Operation mode: - Count-down then up
Press [START/STOP] to start the timer. The timer will start counting down. The display
will also show a flashing down arrow icon
When the timer counts down to zero, it will switch to count-up. Meanwhile, the up-arrow
icon
will flash instead. The timer will stop automatically when it reaches to 59 minutes
and 59 seconds.
